Field Rules
East Point Aeromodellers Club (EPAC) Field Rules
1. Flying and General Conduct is to be in accordance with;
a) EPAC Field Rules and Pit, Flight Line & Airspace Protocols
b) MAAA Rules
c) Commonwealth CASR Regulations 1998 Part 101
2. Flying Members and Flying Visitors
a) Only EPAC members and bona fide visitors who are MAAA Affiliated members are permitted to fly at the East Point Aeromodellers Club.
b) All Visitors who are flying must sign the EPAC Visitors book.
c) All Flyers must have current MAAA membership card at field.
3. General Safety Prohibitions as follows;
a) Flying in excess of 400ft.
b) Flying Aircraft in Excess of 7kg without Heavy Model Permit.
c) Flying directly towards you, other Pilots or Pit Areas.
d) Flying within 30 meters of general spectator viewing areas.
4. Safe, Courteous and Respectful Conduct by all at all times.
Pits Protocols @ All times
- Only Club Members permitted in Pit Area.
- Utilize Frequency Board if flying on 36 or 40 MHz
- Pre-flight Aircraft and Range Check Radio
- No Running or Arming of any Motors in Pits - Use Starting Blocks to Start or Arm Motors
- No Smoking - Use Designated area
- No Flying whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs.
Flight Line Protocol @ All times
- Use: Designated Areas and Airspace for intended purpose only
- Stand: Behind Flight Line fence or Centre Line marker
- Announce: Taxi to Runway, Take-off, Landing and Dead-sticks
- Give Way: To Landing and Training Aircraft
- Maintain: Minimum 30m Clearance over Council Path
- DO NOT: Fly over or towards public or pit areas.
- DO NOT: Use mobile phone on Flight Line or Taxiways
- DO NOT: Fly within 9m of Flight Line
Air Space Protocol @ All Times
- Main Runway ROW Priority (AM: Helicopter / PM Fixed wing)
- No Heli 3D Flying in PM on club days
- All 3D and Specialist flying give way to Circuit flying
- Specialist flying is allocated Specified time slots and Airspace
Note: Subject to revision once Heli Flight Line, Catapult Launch, Glider, Fixed Wing 3D and Control Line areas are established

Taxiways
Starting Blocks
Fixed Wing Flight Line (Circuit and Training)
Heli Flight Line (Circuit and 3D)
Catapult Launch, Glider, Fixed Wing 3D and Control Line Areas
Specialist Areas (Day/Date Allocations)
Specialist Flying
Competition Days
Display Days
Flight Training or Competition Training Days
